In December 2011 Mr. Farrall was asked to address an international health & safety conference in Prague hosted by the” Union of Employers Associations – Czech Republic”. So well received was this presentation that he has been asked to address their next conference in Prague in 2012 – an invitation he has been delighted to accept. He is also in discussions with the organisers of this event, an international management consultancy, to provide high level health & safety workshops to their clients across Europe.

What is MAP Assessment?

MAP Assessment is a management assessment and development tool which has been successfully used by over 13,000 managers in the UK and over 150,000 managers worldwide. Its ability to provide accurate assessments based on the individual manager’s true managerial competence has been independently validated and a full validation report is available on request.

What does MAP Assessment measure and assess?

MAP Assessment is the only objective management skills assessment tool available in the UK. It assesses managers against 12 generic management competencies; highlights their preferred Management, Personal and Communication styles; and then explores the impact of these styles within the workplace. All this information is displayed in a comprehensive full colour 7 page report. Each manager receives an individual personal interpretation along with an explanatory booklet for them to take away and refer to as required.

How does MAP Assessment work?

MAP Assessment normally takes place over two days. Day One consists of a series of 13 DVD based scenarios covering a week in the life of a typical management team. Throughout Day One the managers being assessed answer a series of questions,  which are based upon what they’ve seen and other information given, to determine whether in their opinion each example shown is good or bad practice.

Day Two of the workshop is dedicated to interpreting each manager’s profile and how it relates to their performance in the workplace. All the competencies are discussed and managers can compare their own performance with that of other managers in the UK.

On the afternoon of Day Two each manager receives individual feedback on a one to one basis and advice on how to translate their profile into a personal development plan.

Why do organisations like MAP Assessment?

In the current economic climate, where organisations want to cut costs and become more efficient, they are looking closely at how they spend their training budget.

Using MAP allows organisations to identify where their training and development needs really lie. Armed with this knowledge, which is based upon quantitative analysis, they can focus their valuable time and money developing the skills and behaviours that are going to have the biggest impact on improving their business performance.

Organisations who use MAP Assessment at the start of their management development programmes find they can reduce the time away from the job by over 50% thus creating real cost savings whilst achieving higher levels of improvement.
