Level 4 Award in Health & Safety in the Workplace
This course is accredited by the awarding body HABC.
The Level 4 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace is a qualification aimed at senior managers, directors and business owners who have formal responsibility for health and safety management. The qualification is intended for learners who are already working in the capacity of manager or director, or who are preparing to start work at this level.
Aims of the course
Learners gaining this qualification will know that managers and directors have legal and moral obligations to ensure health and safety within a business and that this includes obligations to employees, contractors, visitors and suppliers.
The subject areas within this course are regarded by the Health and Safety Executive as being important to developing safe working procedures in the workplace.
In order to pass this qualification, learners must successfully construct a risk assessment and a safe system of work as well as pass the HABC examination which is taken on the last day.
Course content
The course will include the following:
- The duties and responsibilities of employers and employees
- Management of health & safety in the workplace
- Procedures for developing and implementing risk assessments
- Procedures for developing and implementing safe systems of work
- Reviewing health & safety procedures within an organisation
Duration
The course is held over 5 days, concluding with a 2½-hour exam.
Qualification
All successful candidates will receive the nationally recognized Level 4 Award in Health & Safety in the Workplace from the awarding body HABC.
