Industrial accident investigations

Mr Farrall has been elected as an Associate Member of the Institute of Industrial Accident Investigators (AMIIAI) and is now planning to launch a new Accident Investigation service. More details will follow in due course.

International projects

USA

Projects with partners in the Middle East and Shanghai are on-going, and, in addition, we’re delighted to announce that preliminary talks have also started with a major US health & safety training provider.
The aim is to explore possible joint training/ consultancy ventures aimed at markets both in the UK and the USA.

Level 2 Award in Managing Fire Safety

This qualification is accredited with the awarding body HABC.

The Level 2 Award in Managing Fire Safety is a qualification aimed at anyone involved in the management of fire safety in any workplace. This includes managers, supervisors, team leaders, fire wardens (marshals) and staff working in any area where there is a potential risk of fire.

The course also meets the requirements of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 in that successful candidates will be given sufficient knowledge to provide competent assistance to the responsible person.

Persons gaining this qualification will know that fire safety is the responsibility of everyone in the workplace and will recognise the consequences of a fire in any premises.

Who should attend?

This course has been designed for supervisors, fire marshals, and all staff working in areas where there is a potential risk of fire.

Course content

The course will include the following topics:

  • Fire risks in the workplace
  • The “fire triangle”
  • Types of fire extinguisher
  • Means of escape from fire
  • Principles of fire safety management
  • The role of the fire marshal

Duration

The course is held over 1 day, concluding with a 1-hour multiple-choice exam.

Qualification

All successful candidates will receive the nationally recognized Level 2 Award in Managing Fire Safety qualification from the awarding body HABC.
